Plant Availability & Performance Solution_

Plant Availability and Performance Solution™ (PlantAPS™) is our full-service solution for individual power plants and fleets of plants. PlantAPS combines technology, people, and process to provide complete implementation, model maintenance, and monitoring services. It’s the perfect solution for plants that want all the benefits of our most advanced Predictive Diagnostics but don’t have the staff, budget, or desire to invest in their own monitoring centers.

PlantAPS provides:

  1. Quick, easy, and inexpensive deployment—within weeks, with zero start-up costs.
  2. Full and low-cost monitoring services and model maintenance through our own in-house Availability and Performance Center (APC).
  3. Solution based on our hosted server, with full access to the solution output for your staff, 24 X 7, without any server updates or maintenance required.
  4. All the expertise and Best Practices of our experienced monitoring and operations engineers.
  5. A proven process of communication.

Currently, 40 power sites worldwide use PlantAPS—coal, combined cycle, nuclear, hydro, and wind.  They use it on all their critical equipment, across all oems.

PlantAPS includes continuous monitoring of all critical assets across all Power segments by our most advanced Predictive Diagnostics software, with focused startup monitoring of combustion turbines. Using our software, our engineers verify equipment and process problems, notify you of them, and work with you to validate and solve them and capture knowledge. We provide real-time notifications of impending problems, weekly reports, weekly conference calls, call summaries, and whatever other support you need to make sure you fully benefit from our Predictive Diagnostic capabilities and fully integrate SmartSignal intelligence into your processes and technologies.

SmartSignal's Availability and Performance Center
"SmartSignal effectively uses predictive analytics to determine if a machine is operating normally. It's able to predict when an abnormality is likely to lead to equipment problems, and it can do so weeks and sometimes months before the actual issue would occur. So, BP is able to plan effective remedial action ahead of the problem, rather than react after the fact. This lets us reduce and sometimes eliminate the cost of equipment issues, reduce lost revenue from equipment downtime and increase safety by reducing incidents and the amount of time personnel are working on equipment problems."
