After 18 years in different positions in maintenance and training center of Electrabel Generation, Yves De Mulder joined Laborelec in 2004 as project manager in condition assessment, condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques. He started up Diagnostic Center for Generation, of which he assumes the role of Technology Manager today. Since July 2009, he is also in charge of Business Development towards Generation of the GDF Suez Group. Yves holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering.   Return to top

Brian Nessen has over 20 years experience in the media industry, specifically in the energy markets. He is currently Group Publishing Director for the TradeFair Group division of Access Intelligence. He also maintains the role of Publisher of POWER magazine. During the past nine years Brian has been involved in the development of numerous e-media initiatives that derive from or enhance traditional media. During the past 4 years he was involved with the acquisition and redevelopment of POWER magazine. Brian holds a BSBA from Tulsa University.   Return to top

Tom Toronto is a Solution Architect at SmartSignal Corporation with 28 years experience in process development, advanced control, and simulation modeling for energy resource development and power generation industries. For example, Tom was team leader for delivery of the industry's first Flue Gas Desulphurization simulator for testing and training on sulfur scrubber systems. He has authored several papers on subjects ranging from the application of adaptive control systems in mineral processing to dynamic simulation and predictive modeling of combustors and turbines. At SmartSignal, he guides customers through the process of creating actionable predictive diagnostics from real time data and integrating results in to their data systems and work processes. Todd Pistorese

Mr. Pistorese has thirty-two years of utility industry experience. His experience from Puget Sound Energy was within T&D Operations, Power Planning, and IT Solutions for Operations. As Business Development Executive at OSIsoft, Mr. Pistorese provides power industry expertise, sets strategic direction within the utility vertical market and works to educate customers and employees alike on emerging trends and the benefits of real-time data solutions. During his career Todd has worked closely with dozens of Electric Utilities, Generation Supply Companies and OSIsoft Partners. While at OSIsoft, Todd has held previous roles as Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Director Partner Channels, and Utilities Industry Manager. Todd has dozens of technical publications in trade journals and magazines on utility innovation in application of real-time data, GIS, T&D Operational improvement, and more recently SmartGrid initiatives. Mr. Pistorese holds a BS Electrical Engineering, a Minor in Economics (both University of Washington), and an MBA (University of Puget Sound) in Seattle, WA, USA.
